Mike Gilbert on Cinema Outtakes

As promised, here are some outtakes from my earlier film "Mike Gilbert on Cinema."

As you can see, it was recorded pretty off-the-cuff, so stitching the original together was quite the chore. (Hell, even editing these outtakes together was a pain in the ass. Er, um, but it was all worth it!)

This is a peek behind the curtain of the pain and frustration that Mike goes through in order to create the apparently seamless magic of his final performance.

What better antidote to all the news of death in Hollywood this week than more Mike Gilbert? If you don't mind, I'm gonna repost the original classic alongside these outtakes (with a link here, of course!) and spread the love!

(Took five minutes to write this comment because of all the tears in my eyes-- downgrading Jerry Maguire because it's in 1.85! Absolutely hilarious!)

Yeah, the 1.85 thing is a hilarious thing that only cinema nerds would appreciate. I only cut that because his energy/excitement level was lower (not to mention I had already way overdone the original at 10 minutes long).

Yes, feel free to wholesale appropriate and embed if you want. I don't mind.

MAB, thanks for even more Mike Gilbert on Cinema (I started typing Milk Gibert, time to call it a day?) It stands alongside Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and The Big Lebowski as works of art I revisit on a regular basis in order to recover from a Bad Day.

(That's a compliment.)
